⏹概述
5G网络切片是在单个物理网络基础设施上针对特定业务提供的专用的、定制的虚拟端到端网络。这就犹如在高速公路上针对不同的车辆和业务划分了快车道、慢车道和紧急车道。
网络切片是许多行业数字化战略的关键推动者,因为它能为行业特定的用例提供在吞吐量、延迟、可靠性等方面的特定连接,以使这些业务模式发挥作用。网络切片能够为运营商和行业客户打开新的商业机会。
未来网络中存在的多个网络切片不是免费的,但是我们需要管理由此产生的复杂性,并优化网络资源利用率,以保证运营成本不受影响。
我们采用诺基亚的FlowOne、CloudBand和贝尔实验室智能自动化分析等产品的组合来满足上述要求,这个组合提供了“零触摸”自动化解决方案。
⏹演示环境
我们模拟了在移动网络中汽车驾驶和公共安全的业务场景。在宝马汽车行驶时有三类业务,我们在网络中为这些业务提供了固定的三个网络切片:
●自动驾驶(高优先级)
●高清地图(高优先级)
●车内娱乐视频(低优先级)
同时,我们还为公共安全机构提供视频监控的网络切片,一旦发生紧急事件,将提供紧急服务的网络切片。网络中为公共安全紧急服务预留了网络资源。
通过对视频和网络性能参数的分析,诺基亚贝尔实验室提供了基于人工智能的了“零接触”异常事件检测和网络切片实例化部署。
演示步骤和讲解内容
在演示中我们展示两种情况下的业务质量保障:
‐正常情况下的业务质量
‐紧急事件发生时的业务质量
第一步:
在正常情况下,一共有四个网络切片,业务在这些切片都正常运行。在演示的电视屏幕上,我们看到一辆宝马汽车的内部,有三个应用(自动驾驶、高清地图、车内娱乐视频),另一个网络切片为三个公共安全监控摄像头提供服务,监视着城市的三个不同地点。我们看到FlowOne 用户界面上向操作员公开了与切片相关的服务信息。
第二步:
模拟创建紧急情况,这是一辆卡车泄漏石油或化学物质。
第三步:
通过基于人工智能的视频监控检测到异常情况,并表示需要在受影响区域为公共安全部门提供新的紧急网络切片。这时,Flow One自动选择切片模板,并在确认后,新的网络切片被部署。部署了新的网络切片后,可以为无人机、高清摄像、公共安全人员提供紧急处理时所需要大量的无线和网络资源。
第四步:
这时,我们可以看到:
-高优先级业务(自动驾驶、高清地图和公共安全)保持良好运行
-低优先级业务(宝马汽车的视频流),受到影响,分辨率下降。
5G Network Slicing
slicing is a key enabler for the digitization strategies of many industries since it provides tailormade connectivity for industry specific use cases in terms of throughput, latency, reliability etc. Nokia is working together with world champions in multiple industries to make those business models work. One example is BMW.
We believe that Network Slicing is the enabling technology to open new business opportunities for both operators and vertical industries.
Having multiple network slices is not for free, we need to manage the resulting complexity and optimize network resource utilization to keep operational costs from ballooning.
We consider a scenario with automotive and Public Safety on a Cellular Network. We have three differ
ent tenants, each with one or more slices. Each slice is a tailored network with custom‐built configuration and deployment:
1.Automated Driving Consortium provides automotive support infrastructure
2.BWM provides own in‐car services
3.Public Safety Authority provides Video Surveillance and, if and when needed,
emergency services
In the demo we show:
-SLA Assurance in normal conditions as well as in case of unpredictable events - a running network built by Nokia products: we have FlowOne for Slice Orchestration and Monitoring, CloudBand for Resource Orchestration,
AirFrame and AirScale for CN and RAN and live UEs
-Nokia Bell Labs Artificial Intelligence for “zero‐touch” anomaly detection and slice instantiation, through video and network KPIs analytics

How is the demo setup?
We show Tenants and Services both from the end user side and Operator and Tenant UIs.
-on the horizontal simulation board we show Automated Driving, supported by a dedicated slice. The board displays the city of Barcelona with vehicles
driving, changing and merging lanes
-on the monitor we see the interior of a BMW car with three applications, three PS Video surveillance cameras monitoring three different spots in
Barcelona and Artificial Intelligence indicators that signal anomalies in the city and in the network. And we see FlowOne UIs exposing slice related service
information to Operator and Tenants
Step 1) The visitor creates the emergency by placing a ‘token’ on the Automated Driving board.
The related city‐area is selected for creating the emergency, that is a truck spilling oil or chemical material
Step 2) Our Bell Labs Artificial Intelligence detects the anomaly and signals the need for a new emergency slice in the affected zone to Public Safety Authority. The request pops up in PS tenant UI.
Flow One automatically chooses the slice templates and upon confirmation, the new slice is deployed and related KPIs are exposed. To demonstrate the service of the new slice we see drones that monitor the emergency area from above
Step 3) What is the impact on the services related to the other network slices?
By using drones, high quality camera etc, Public Safety personnel demands a lot of radio and network resources.
We demonstrate:
-High priority services (Automated Driving, HD maps and Public Safety) keep on working fine, their KPIs are green, that means that SLA are guaranteed
Only the video streaming of the BMW car, which is the lower priority service,
is affected and it goes to lower quality. However, network slicing technology
will guarantee that the video doesn’t stall in the emergency zone.
With demo we demonstrate:
•The Nokia 5G Future X architecture in action with a live – yes, all is live ‐ network slicing implementation on CloudBand, Airframe and Airscale
products
•We made a “zero‐touch” automation solution for the network slicing lifecycle real, by combining FlowOne and Bell Labs’ advanced analytics •This unique combination will master the operational complexity of future network consisting of many network slices, and it reduces network TCO by
30% compared to non‐cloud, non‐automated solutions.
•Key ecosystem players such as BMW are working with us making the new business models real
