Axial Flow fans are used where large air volume is to be handled at little or low pressures. They are co
mpact in nature & the air delivering capacity ranges from 2500 to 100,000 CMH (cubic meters per hour) and pressures up to 3" WG. They are available in seven sizes from 12" to 48" in diameter. Thermal Engineering Corporation offers sturdy , highly efficient & low maintenance tube axial / vane axial flow fans for use in ventilation & exhaust. We offer reliable & sturdy process machinery & our name has become synonymous with reliable, long-life equipment. Whilst offering a range of standard equipment, being a relatively small company gives us the flexibility to tailor machines to

Introduction
An axial-flow fan is suitable for a larger flow rate with a relatively small pressure gain. These fans move the air parallel to the fan's axis of rotation. Guides or stator vanes serve to smoothen /straighten the airflow and improve efficiency. Units are available for both single or three phase operation. Easy in
stallation into new or existing ductwork systems & can reduce system space requirements by more than 50% over conventional centrifugal fans . Each fan is supplied complete with two matching flanges. Impellers usually have blades with cross-sections matching those of an aerofoil. As compared to curved sheet blades, aerofoils can apply greater force to the air, thereby increasing maximum pressure and can maintain better efficiency over a wider range of volumetric flow. The three main kinds of axial fans are -
These are mounted in a cylinder & are more efficient than propeller fans & can develop up to 3 to 4 in. WG. They have an impeller with typically four to eight blades attached to a hub that is usually less than half the diameter of the wheel. Cast Aluminium aerofoil shaped blades assure maximum efficiency. Accessories include inlet bells, bird screens etc.
Tube-Axial Fans
the presence of • corrosive or hazardous fumes, • dirt-laden, • Hot or • moist air. Arrangement consists of Shaft, bearings, pulleys & belt assembly. If system pressures or flow requirements change, belt driven fans can easily & flexibly adjust by changing pulleys. This design comes with • Belt tension adjustment. • Standard foot-mounted motors ( squirrel cage induction)
Advantages
Propeller Fans
Propeller fans produce low static pressures (up to 0.5” WG) & can be supplied with AC or DC Brushless motors. They have an impeller with two or more BI blades that are usually made from single, light-gauge material attached to a small diameter hub. They have low efficiency.
• Compact design and in-duct mounting, save space & unnecessary bends. • Variable-pitch impellers provide flexibility to adjust easily to required pressure & volume during commissioning. • Impeller can be made of cast aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel or glass-reinforced polypropylene for corrosion resistance. • Blades are manufactured with airfoil crosssections to minimize noise and optimise efficiency.
Vane Axial Fans
They are normally used for clean air only. They have air-straightening vanes installed on the suction or discharge side of the rotor. They are easily adapted to multi staging and can develop static pressures as high as 14 to 16 in” WG. Usually have short Aerofoil blades radiating from a hub greater than half th
e diameter of the impeller. The blades are either fixed, adjustable or controllable (variable pitch-inmotion). Vane axial fans are the most efficient axial fans.
Applications
Belt Driven Design
Well suited for applications when we have to keep Electric motor out of the airstream due
• Cooling towers ( Air-conditioning/ ventilation) • Humidifiers in textile mills • Air-heat exchangers for various chemical processes • Ventilation & exhaust as in mining industry • Power generation • Petroleum refining & petrochemicals • Cement • Chemicals & pharmaceuticals • Fertilizer production • Mining • Ventilation in auditoriums, hotels etc. • In-duct space ventilation supply or exhaust • Roof mounted ventilation • Industrial fume exhaust • Spray booth exhaust • High temperature process ventilation
