INSTALLATION  GUIDELINES
POWER-FAB CRS
First, a word on our product:
The Power-Fab CRS (Commercial Racking System) is designed to be a non-penetrating structure that is weighted to the roof by concrete cap (ballast) blocks. It is designed to mount on most flat roof types with a pitch of no more than 1/12 (4.8 degrees).  In its standard design (ballast on the northern edge, southern edge, and every other row in between), the 5-degree tilt is rated for 130 MPH and the 10-degree tilt is rated for 90 MPH in areas with a Class C exposure category.  Steeper tilt angles and higher wind speeds are available by adding extra ballast blocks.  All ballast requirements have been calculated based on uplift and drag force data gathered from full-scale wind-tunnel testing.

COMPONENTS:
Power Beam Extrusion E-W Formed Aluminum Angle Ballast Pans
Wind Deflectors Splice and Tie Plates: 3-Hole Tie, 2-
Hole Tie, and 2-Hole Side Splice Front Module Tilt Bracket
Rear Module Tilt Bracket EPDM Gasket Inter and Under Module Spacer Jigs
Mid Clamps and 5/16” Hardware End Clamps and 5/16” Hardware 5/16” Track Bolts, Hex Bolts, and
Flange Nuts
STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY:
Step 1
Slide the 48” long pieces of
EPDM rubber gasket into the un-
derside of N-S Power Beam alu-
minum extrusion.  (EPDM is used
to protect the roof surface and
increase friction.)
NOTE:  THE EPDM GETS INSTALLED IN THE N-S PIECES OF POWER BEAM ONLY.  DO NOT INSTALL IT IN THE E-W PIECES.
Step 2
Continue inserting EPDM rubber gasket while leaving ap-
proximately 6-8” between each piece to allow water to
flow underneath the rack.
Step 3
Prepare to attach Front Tilt
Brackets and Rear Tilt Brackets
by sliding the necessary amounttilt
of 5/16” x 3/4” stainless steel
Track Bolts into the top track of
the N-S Power Beam extrusion.
(Please refer to Sheet 2 of your
rack assembly diagrams for Track
Bolt placement.)
NOTE:  BEFORE CONNECTING N-S TO E-W MEMBERS, BE SURE TO NESTLE E-W POWER BEAM IN-SIDE OF N-S POWER BEAM
Step 4
Connect the N-S Power Beam
extrusion to the southern-most
E-W Power Beam extrusion via
the Front Module Tilt Brackets
and 5/16” x 3/4” stainless steel
Track Bolts and flange nuts.
Tighten to 16-20 ft.-lbs.  (Please
refer to Sheet 2 of your rack as-
sembly diagrams for Track Bolt
placement.)
