1. The food culture in America and India
2. The food culture in English and France
3. The food culture in Japan and Korea

2.1 The food culture in America and India
2.1.1 The food culture in America
A. American food
a. Time + Historic food = modern American food
American people always grab a quite bite. Hamburgers, Pizza, French fries such fast food always become their lunch or dinner.
b. Turkey is popular at Thanksgiving Day in America, which is native to the forests of the North America.
c. Their three meals in a day.
Breakfast: milk, orange juice, bread and fruit salad.
Lunch: hamburgers
Dinner: beef, hot dog, roast chicken and some salad.
B. Table manners in America
a. One does not start eating until every person is served or those who have not been served request that you begin without waiting.
b. It is acceptable in the United States not to accept all offerings, and to not finish all the food on your plate. No one should ask why another doesn't want any of a dish or why he has not finished a serving.
c. Chew with your mouth closed.
d. Before asking for additional helpings, always finish the serving on your plate first.
e. When you have finished your meal, place all used utensils onto your plate together, on the right side, pointed up. Do not place used utensils on the table.
2.1.2 The food culture in India
A. Indian food
a. Indian food is always made by hot pepper, ginger, clove.
b. Indian curry
Indian food is famous for the curry. Curry has it own special space. It is with 20 various spices of modulation, and it color is yellow. Indians are crazy about curry. Almost each dish has curry, such as curry chicken, curry fish, curry potatoes, curry rice, and curry cauliflower and so on.
c. Indian pancake.
They can be made either sweet or salty and are of different thicknesses in different places. They are made in a frying pan and are of a similar batter as their European counterparts. Since it becomes more and more popular, it is not only available in India but also all around the world.
d. Indian do not eat beef.
Almost all religious Indians who believe in religion absolutely do not eat beef. Because they think the beef is Nandi.
B. Table manners in India
a. Hand washing, both before sitting at a table and after eating, is important. Cleaning with cloth or paper tissue may be considered unhygienic.
b. It is now acceptable to ask for salt or pepper with a mention that y ou like more of it.
c. Eating at a medium pace is important, as eating too slowly may imply dislike of the food and eating too quickly is rude.
d. Staring at another diner's plate is taken as being rude.
It is inappropriate to make sounds while chewing.

A. The English food
a. The main food is French-fries, bread, cheese, Fish-and-chips.
In the west, people pay more attention to the nutrition of food rather than the looks of it.
British like eating beef, mutton, egg, fruit, dessert…Before the meal, they like to drink beer first
b. Eating habits
Breakfast (7-9 o’clock): Traditional breakfast: fried bacon, sausage, fried toast…These called fried food. Popular breakfast: a bowl of corn flakes with milk; some yogurt and fresh food; toast with jam,usually add some tea, coffee or juice
Lunch (13 o’clock): sandwich, baked potato, dessert (chocolate)

Dinner(19 o’clock-20 o’clock): It includes two dish: fish or meat added with some vegetables, dessert (pudding)
B. The table manners in English.
a. Keep the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right hand.
b. Don’t speak with your mouth full of food.
c. Don’t cross your legs, lean back on your chair and shake your feet.
d. Chew and shallow all the food in your mouth before taking more or taking a drink.
e. Finish eating everything on your plate.
2.2.2 The food culture in France
A. The French food
a. The main food is bread, such as croissant, baguette, French toast.
b. Eating habits
pizza Eating habit:soup— hors d’oeuvre — entree— dessert
They drink liqueur before meal and drink wine during the meal.
After dinner, they will have a cup of espresso, some fruit, or a piece of ice cream. That’s an enjoyment after a tiring day.
