This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-02-01 AA Spiralbohrer aus Schnellarbeitsstahl (für Metall) of the Normenausschuss Werkzeuge und Spannzeuge (FWS) (Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee). Amendments
This standard differs from DIN 339:1978-03 as follows: a) the Scope is now included;
b) tolerances for l 1 and l 2 have been brought in line with DIN 1414-1; c) the standard has been editorially revised. Previous editions

1 Scope
This standard specifies dimensions for and the designation of parallel shank twist drills for use in jig bushes.

The twist drills do not need to be designed as shown here; they only need to have the specified dimensions, see also DIN 1414-1.
