This standard has been prepared by ECISS/TC 31 ‘Steel castings’ (Secretariat: France).
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Eisen und Stahl (Steel and Iron Standards Committee), Technical Committee 11 Stahlguss .
Amendments
This standard differs from DIN 1681, June 1985 edition, DIN 17182, May 1992 edition, and DIN 17205, April 1992 edition, as follows:

1) Steel grades GS200 (1.0449) and GS240 (1.0455) have been included.2) Steel grade GS – 52 (1.0552) has been dropped.
3) The steel names have been changed as follows (with the material numbers left unchanged):

This European Standard was approved by CEN on 2005-02-14.
