The Kindness Around Me
Have you ever felt really happy and warm inside because someone did something nice for you? I have, and it's one of the best feelings in the world! There's so much kindness and goodness all around us if we just open our eyes to see it. Let me tell you about some of the kind people and acts I've noticed recently.reaction to a book or an article
My mom is probably the kindest person I know. She's always doing little things to make me and my dad happy, like making our favorite foods, helping with homework, and giving us big hugs. But it's not just us - I've seen her hold the door for strangers, complement people's outfits, and volunteer at school events. Whenever I ask why she's so nice, she just smiles and says "Kindness makes the world a little bit better." I think she's right!
Speaking of school, there's a lot of kindness there too if you look closely. Like Sam, a boy in my class who is always first to help when Mr. Clark asks for volunteers. Or Ashley, who sticks up for the shy kids when mean kids pick on them. The librarians are super kind too, always happy to help you find the perfect book. And who could forget Mrs. Johnson, the nicest lunch lady ever? She always has a smile and warm greeting for everyone.
Outside of school, I see kindness too. Like the neighborhood teenage boys who shovel the sidewalks for all the houses on our street when it snows, even though they don't get paid. Or the store owner, Mr. Patel, who lets kids grab a free candy when their parents shop there. Once I was short a few cents for an ice cream and the vendor just said "Don't worry about it kiddo, it's on me today!"
Some of the kindest acts I've seen are from kids my age or younger. My little sister made get well cards for an elderly neighbor when he was sick. A classmate organized a cart return "race" in the grocery parking lot to help busy parents. And who could forget the neighborhood lemonade stand run by three little girls to raise money for the animal shelter?
I even try to be a kind person myself whenever I can. I always make my bed in the morning so my mom doesn't have to (though I'm not perfect - sorry about those missing socks under the bed Mom!). I hold the door for people too. And whenever my grandma calls, I listen closely to all her stories, because I know she gets lonely.
I'm not saying I'm the world's nicest kid or anything. But it really doesn't take much to put a smile on someone's face with a little kindness and courtesy. And those small acts of goodness can make someone's entire day better. That's why whenever I see kindness around me, it makes me happy too. It's like the warm feeling you get from a mug of hot chocolate on a cold day.
The world can definitely be a harsh place at times. We all have bad days, struggles, and meanness to deal with sometimes. But if we all did a few more little kind things for each other, it would make everything a whole lot brighter. So look around, and I bet you'll start noticing the kindness around you too. And maybe it will inspire you to add some more kindness to the world as well. Every bit of goodness makes a difference!

Kindness Around Me
Hello friends! Today I want to talk to you about kindness and the kind people I see all around me every day. Kindness is one of the most important things in the world, and I truly believe that even small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in someone's life.
Let me start by telling you about my mom. My mom is the kindest person I know. Every morning, she wakes up early to make my brother and me a hot breakfast before school. She packs our lunches with our favorite snacks and always includes a sweet note to make us smile during the day. After school, mom helps us with our homework, no matter how frustrated or confused we get. She is incredibly patient. Mom also volunteers at the animal shelter every week, taking care of the cats and dogs until they can find their forever homes. Whenever I see a stray animal on the street, mom always stops to see if it needs food, water or help. She shows such compassion to every living creature. My mom's kindness knows no bounds.
Then there's my best friend Jacob. Jacob is the most generous and caring kid I know. At recess, if he sees someone sitting alone, he always goes over to invite them to join our games. Jacob makes sure no one feels left out. One time, a new student named Miguel came to our school halfway through the year. He didn't speak much English yet, so it was really hard for him. Jacob went out of his way to befriend Miguel, using gestures to communicate. He introduced Miguel to all of our friends and helped him feel welcome. Miguel ended up becoming one of our closest buddies, all thanks to Jacob's kindness in making an extra effort.
I see acts of kindness from the staff at my school too. Our custodian, Mr. Franklin, is constantly going above and beyond. He has a warm smile and "good morning" for every student he passes in the hallway. If someone drops their books, he rushes to help them pick everything up. Mr. Franklin works so hard to keep our school clean, and he does it with such a positive attitude. At lunchtime, if a student forgets their lunch money, the cafeteria ladies never hesitate to provide them with a full meal anyway. They treat every child with warmth and make sure no one goes hungry.
