摘要:846,056. Fluid-pressure brakes. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Oct. 24, 1958 [Nov. 27, 1957], No. 34142/58. Class 103 (1). A servomotor has a flowable pressure -transmitting material interposed between the power member and the driven member and pressurized responsive to transmission of force between the members to create a reaction force to oppose actuation of the control device of the servomotor. On brake application, controlmember 56 is moved from seat 74 to first seat atmospheric valve 58 on poppet member 46, supported by diaphragm 50, to seal off chamber 38 from atmosphere via passages 64, 62 and filter 68, and then move member 46 from seat 52 to connect chamber 38 with a vacuum chamber 42 via control-chamber 60. The piston C then moves member D to pressurize master-cylinder A until the desired braking intensity is reached, when rod F is stopped, piston C then moving sufficiently to seat valve seat 52 on member 46 to prevent further pressure decrease in chambei 38.. On brake release, member 56 is moved rearwardly with rod F by spring 80 to open atmospheric valve 58, the master cylinder pressure and spring 76 returning piston C and member D to the release position. To apply a reactive force to member 56, to give the operator " feel," proportional to the force applied to member D, a fluid-filled chamber 82 is formed in a boss 84 of piston C in which projects the member D and a reaction-pin 88 which abuts
control-member 56. On braking the piston C pressurizes the fluid in chamber 82 to move member D an
d to also move pin 88 to oppose the actuating movement of member 56, to give " feel." In assembling the servomotor, the piston C is placed horizontal with the head 94 of pin 88 projecting upwards, the chamber 82 is filled with liquid and member D lowered into the chamber to abut the raised head 94, the member D is then forced into chamber 82 displacing some liquid until it engages the seal 86, further movement pressurizing the liquid to force head 94 against the wall of chamber 82. The master cylinder A and servo casing are then lowered into position and the member D equipped with a washer 16 to operate tilt valve 14, the master cylinder being closed by plug 98. In Fig. 2, not shown, the chamber 82 is formed in member D, and the member 56 has an extension extending into the bore 90 to abut a shorter reaction pin; in assembly, the member D is held vertical and the piston lowered into position. In a further embodiment in Fig. 3, not shown, the fluid chamber formed in a piston boss contains a sliding plug which abuts the member D, the chamber being filled with liquid and the plug inserted to enable the piston to be transported without being assembled with the remainder of the servomotor. Specification 810,167 is referred to.
