摘要：PURPOSE:To prevent a rotary electric machine from being cut off from a power source when the step voltage is changed over, by a method wherein a parallel circuit consisting of a reactor and a short-circuit switch is provided between the tap of an auto-transformer used as a starting compensator and the rotary electric machine. CONSTITUTION:To start a rotary electric machine 1, first, switches 5, 6 and 10 are closed to apply a voltage lower than a supply voltage to the dynamo electric machine 1 through an auto-transformer 8. Then, both the switch 6 and the short- circuit switch 10 are opened. Under said condition, the supply voltage is applied to the dynamo electric machine 1 through the reactor of the winding 8a portion and a reactor 9. Then, with a switch 3 closed, the supply voltage is applied to the rotary electric machine 1. Thereby, the rotary electric machine is never cut off from a power source when the step voltage is changed over. Accordingly, there is not possibility of flow of an excessive rush current due to the phase difference between the residual voltage of the rotary electric machine and the supply voltage.
