摘要：PURPOSE:To provide a steam separator which reduces the pressure loss of a vapor-liquid two phase flow and which can efficiently separate the vapor-liquid two phase flow into water and, steam without exerting a large turning force on the vapor-liquid two phase flow. CONSTITUTION:A steam separator 15 provided above a reactor core enclosed in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel and adapted to separate a vapor-liquid two phase flow from the reactor core into water and steam has a riser pipe 31 for guiding the vapor-liquid two phase flow from the reactor core, inlet guide vanes 33 for turning the guided vapor-liquid two phase flow, and an outer tube 30 for separating the vapor-liquid two phase flow turned by the guide vanes 33 into water and steam. A plurality of slits 35 through which to discharge the water separated are formed through the outer tube and also a flow divider for guiding the turning flow of the separated water to the slits 35 is provided on the downstream side inner peripheral wall of the outer tube 30 which extends along each slit 35.
