The Internet and Language: A Kid's Point of View
Language is super cool and totally awesome! It's how we talk to our friends, learn new stuff, and express our thoughts and feelings. But you know what's even cooler? How language is changing because of the internet! Let me tell you all about it.
When I'm online, I notice that people use a lot of abbreviations and shorthand. Things like "LOL" for "laughing out loud," "BRB" for "be right back," and "ROFL" for "rolling on the floor laughing." At first, I didn't understand what they meant, but now I use them all the time when chatting with my friends. It's like we have our own secret code language!
