Xuzhou, the City of Terracotta Warriors
Hi there! My name is Xiaoming, and I'm a 12-year-old student from Xuzhou, a city in Jiangsu Province, China. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing hometown!
sort of army Xuzhou is a really cool place with a lot of history. Do you know about the Terracotta Warriors? They're these super cool life-sized soldier statues that were buried underground for over 2,000 years! Guess what? Some of them were discovered right here in Xuzhou! How awesome is that?
The Terracotta Warriors were built to guard the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. He wanted an army to protect him in the afterlife, so he had these warriors made out
of terracotta (a type of clay). Each one is unique, with different facial features and poses. It's like they're ready to jump into action at any moment!
In Xuzhou, we have a museum called the Terracotta Warriors Museum, and it's super cool. Inside, you can see hundreds of these warrior statues, all lined up in battle formation. Some of them are even on horses or holding weapons like swords and spears. It's like you've time-traveled back to ancient China!
But that's not all Xuzhou has to offer. Our city is also famous for something called "Huaiyang cuisine." It's a type of Chinese cooking that's really, really yummy. My favorite dish is called "Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish." It's a whole fish that's been shaped to look like a cute little squirrel! The fish is fried and then covered in a sweet and sour sauce. It's so tasty, and the presentation is just adorable.
Another famous dish from Xuzhou is called "Marbled Tea." It's not actually tea, but a soup made with vegetables, meat, and egg. The coolest part is that when you pour it into a bowl, it forms these beautiful swirly patterns that look like marble! It's almost too pretty to e
at. Almost.
Aside from the food and history, Xuzhou is also a great place for nature lovers. We have this huge park called Quanshan Park, and it's like a giant forest right in the middle of the city. There are hills, streams, and even a lake where you can go boating. My favorite part is the bamboo forest. The bamboo stalks are so tall and green, and when the wind blows through them, it makes a really relaxing sound.
Speaking of relaxing, Xuzhou is also known for its hot springs. These are natural pools of hot water that come bubbling up from underground. Some of the hot springs even have hotels built around them, so you can soak in the warm water all day long! It's supposed to be really good for your health and skin.
So, as you can see, Xuzhou is a pretty awesome place. We've got history, culture, nature, and some really yummy food. If you ever visit China, you should definitely come check out my hometown. Just don't forget to bring your appetite and your sense of adventure!
Well, that's all I have to share for now. I hope you learned something new about Xuzhou today. Until next time, this is Xiaoming signing off!

Xuzhou – My Hometown
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a middle school student from the amazing city of Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province, China. Let me tell you all about my cool hometown.
Xuzhou is located in the northwest part of Jiangsu and it's one of the bigger cities in the province. It has a really long history going back over 2,500 years! There are so many incredible historical and cultural sites here. My favorite is the Han Dynasty Terracotta Warriors Museum. Just like the more famous Terracotta Army in Xi'an, it has thousands of life-size terracotta soldier figures that were buried underground for over 2,000 years! It's mind-blowing to see them all lined up in battle formation.
Another awesome place is Xuzhou Museum, which has tons of ancient artifacts and relic
s from different dynasties. I love learning about all the history behind the items on display. The museum building itself is pretty epic too - it's designed to look like an ancient palace. Whenever I visit, I feel like a little emperor checking out the treasures of my kingdom!
But Xuzhou isn't just about the past, we also have really cool modern attractions. My favorite is the Xuzhou China Dinosaurs Park, which has life-size dinosaur models scattered around these huge gardens. You can see a mighty T-Rex baring its teeth, a long-necked Brachiosaurus munching on leaves, and raptors racing across the field. It's like stepping into a time machine back to when dinosaurs roamed the earth! The park even has a dinosaur fossil museum where you can see real skeletons and fossils. So awesome for a dino-loving kid like me.
