Last Weekend at the Zoo
sort of there是什么意思 Wow, I had such an exciting adventure last weekend at the zoo! It all started when my mom and dad said we were going to the zoo on Saturday. I was so happy because I love seeing all the cool animals. We got up bright and early to get there right when they opened.
First up, we went to see the huge elephants. There was a really big one that was using its long trunk to grab leaves off a tree and put them in its mouth. It looked so funny! The elephant keeper told us that elephants can use their trunks sort of like a hand to pick things up and bring food to their mouths. Who knew?
Next, we walked over to the big habitat for the gorillas. There were some baby gorillas play
ing and chasing each other around. They were so cute! My little sister started making funny gorilla sounds and one of the big silverback gorillas turned and looked right at her. We all got pretty scared for a second, but then the gorilla just went back to eating leaves. Phew!
After that, it was lunchtime, so we stopped to have our picnic lunch near the birdhouse. We saw all kinds of pretty birds like flamingos, parrots, and toucans. My favorite was probably the bright blue ones that could talk. One bird kept saying "Hello! Hello!" every time someone walked by its cage. So funny!
Then we went to my very favorite part of the zoo - the reptile house! We saw all kinds of snakes, lizards, turtles, and even alligators. There was a huge python curled up in its cave. The zoo keeper said it was resting after a big meal. I don't think I'd want to see what kind of animal it just ate! We also saw some really colorful frogs hopping around. My dad tried to catch one with his hands but it jumped away too fast.
After the reptiles, we headed outside to go see the big cats. The lion was napping on a rock, soaking up the warm sun. But the tiger was prowling around, sharp teeth showing. I w
as pretty scared of that guy! We stayed back away from the fence, just in case. My little sister asked if the tiger could jump out and get us, but my dad said the fences and walls were totally safe. Phew!
Finally, it was time to go, but first we made one last stop at the zoo gift shop. I got a stuffy of a cute little monkey to remember the day. My sister got a bird whistle that made animal sounds. The whole ride home she kept making elephant noises with it and cracking herself up.
Overall, it was such a fun family day at the zoo! I have so many great memories of seeing all the amazing animals. I took a ton of pictures and videos to remember it all. My favorite animals were probably the snakes, gorillas, and elephants. Although that tiger was pretty scary! I can't wait to go back to the zoo again soon. Maybe next time we'll get to see the pandas!

I Was Having the Best Day Ever!
Yesterday was the most fun day I've had in a really long time! It started out just like any other Saturday morning. I was sleeping in late after staying up past my bedtime on Friday night to watch a movie with my parents. When I finally woke up around 10am, I could smell something delicious coming from the kitchen. My mom was making her famous chocolate chip pancakes!
I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs in my pajamas. My little brother Tommy was already sitting at the table, chocolate smeared all over his face. "Slow down there, tornado!" my dad laughed as I skidded into the kitchen. I plopped down in my chair and dug right into the big stack of pancakes on my plate. They were still warm and the chocolate chips were all melty and gooey. Mmmmm!
After breakfast, my dad said we were all going to go to the park for a family picnic. That made me really happy because it's my favorite thing to do when the weather is nice out. I ran back upstairs to get dressed in a big hurry. I put on my green shorts with the frog pattern and my yellow t-shirt with the sun on it. Then I grabbed my red baseball cap and ran back downstairs.
My mom had packed a huge basket full of sandwiches, fruits, veggies, chips, cookies, and lemonade for the picnic. We all piled into the car and headed to Maple Grove Park. It only took about 10 minutes to get there. When we arrived, I was so excited I could barely sit still in the backseat!
As soon as my dad parked the car, I jumped out and ran over to the big open field surrounded by trees. My mom laid out a big blanket and we all sat down to eat our picnic lunch. After I devoured my sandwich, baby carrots, and a handful of chips, I looked over and Tommy was zonked out taking a little nap. That kid never runs out of energy so I knew he must have been tuckered out from running around that morning.
My dad tossed a frisbee back and forth with me for a little while. Then the three of us played a game of catch with a baseball for the next hour or so. I was having so much fun just being outside on such a gorgeous sunny day with my favorite people.
Once Tommy woke up from his nap, we headed over to the playground area. I showed my parents how I was finally big enough to go down the really tall curly slide all by myself.
We also went on the swings for a while and I tried to see how high I could go. The wind was whipping through my hair and it felt like I could almost touch the clouds!
