    My House
    Hi there! My name is Alex and I'm going to tell you all about my house. It's a really cool place where my family and I live. I love my house so much!
    My house is kind of big with two floors. The first floor has the living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, a bathroom, and my parents' bedroom. Upstairs we have three more bedrooms and another bathroom. My bedroom is upstairs and it's awesome!
    The outside of our house is painted light blue with white trim around the windows and doors. We have a big yard in the front with lots of green grass and some flower gardens that my mom plants every year. In the backyard, we have a patio with a picnic table and grill for cooking out. There's also a swing set and playhouse for me and my little sister to play on.
    When you walk in the front door, you enter the living room. We have a huge comfy couch, a couple of cozy chairs, and a big entertainment center with a TV. There are lots of windows that let in great natural light during the day. My favorite part is the brick fireplace - we love having fires in there during the winter!
    Next to the living room is the dining room. We have a long wooden table in there where we eat dinner together almost every night as a family. My mom sets out placemats, napkins, and cute decorations to make it look nice. We also have a china cabinet filled with fancy plates and glasses.
    Through the dining room is the kitchen, which is sort of the center of our house. It has light blue countertops and white cabinets. We have pretty much every kitchen gadget and tool you can think of - my mom loves to cook! The fridge is covered in magnets, drawings I've made, and our calendar filled with everyone's activities. The best part is the big window over the sink that overlooks the backyard.
    Off the kitchen is the laundry room with our washer, dryer, and lots of shelves for keeping
cleaning supplies. Laundry is one of my chores - I have to put my dirty clothes in the hamper and help switch loads sometimes. The laundry room leads to the half bathroom downstairs which has a toilet and sink.
    My parents' bedroom is also on the first floor. It has a big window, a comfy queen bed, two nightstands, and a TV. They have their own bathroom attached that has a jacuzzi tub which is so relaxing when they let me use it! Their bathroom has double sinks, lots of counter space, and a huge walk-in closet.
    Now let me tell you about upstairs - my favorite part of the house! At the top of the stairs is a long hallway. The first room is my sister Sarah's bedroom. She has a twin bed, a desk for doing homework, and lots of stuffed animals. Her room is painted purple which is her favorite color.
    Next is the guest bedroom where visitors stay when they come over. It has two twin beds, a dresser, and a TV. The room looks out over the front yard. At the end of the hall is the main upstairs bathroom that my sister and I share. It just has a sink, toilet, and bathtub
but the bathtub is really deep so it's great for taking baths with all my bath toys.
    And finally, my bedroom! This is seriously the coolest room. Ever. The walls are painted a bright green color that makes me feel so happy and energetic. I have a loft bed with a slide and a tent underneath for hanging out. My dresser has a TV on it and all my video game systems hooked up. I also have a beanbag chair, toy box, and my desk for doing homework.
    The best part of my room is the huge wall of windows that lets me see out into the backyard. I can watch birds and squirrels running around outside. I also have an awesome view of our big maple tree in the backyard. It's so much fun climbing the tree and building forts up there during summer!
    That's my house! I really love it here. We have a lot of space to spread out and do our own thing. But we also have lots of shared rooms for hanging out together as a family.
