Passage 1
W: Hi, John, what are you doing?
M: I’m making a plan for the holiday next month.
W: What, you make a plan for the holiday? So you always had activities on holiday?
M: Of course. My family always makes plans for the holidays.
W: Really? That’s really enjoyable. By the way, what did you do on the last holiday?
M: We went to a very beautiful island. It’s located in the northern part of our country. There we saw a very wonderful view. How about you, Susan? What do you usually do on holiday?
W: I don’t do anything. Every holiday I go to my grandmother in the village. That’s all I do because my parents are very busy.
M: Busy with what?
W: Busy with their jobs. They never have time for me.
M: How about coming with my family to spend the holiday?
W: I’m afraid my parents will not allow me to do that. They always send me to my grandmother’s house.
M: I think they do that because they love you and there will be your grandmother taking care of you.
W: Yes, maybe. Well, let’s go to the dinning hall. I’m starving.
M: Me, too. Let’s go.
11.What did John’s family do on the last holiday?
12.Why does Susan usually stay with her grandmother during the holiday?

Passage 2
Mr. Johnson is talking about his plan to buy a used car.
I’m thinking of buying another car, but, er…Let’s see here. One of them is an old medium-sized car. 1,495 dollars, but I’m concerned about the number of miles. That might not be the best choice. The second one is an old Millionaire 19 wait, 2006. It’s 4,495 dollars, but I don’t think my kids are so interested in riding an old Millionaire. In reality, a 2006 Millionaire might not be that old. But it depends on how it was driven by the previous owner. The last thing is a jeep: 25, 990 dollars. I can see myself going up the mountains, r the hills. But unfortunately, I have other bills to pay. So I think I will have to think about that a little bit more.
