My Favorite Book: Charlotte's Web by E.B. White
Hi there! My name is Jimmy and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my absolute favorite book – Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. This book is so amazing and I just love it so much!
The story is about a little pig named Wilbur who is born on a farm. At first, Wilbur is going to be killed because he is too small and the farmer thinks he won't amount to much. But then a little girl named Fern saves Wilbur's life by convincing her dad to let her take care of the piglet. Fern really loves Wilbur and takes such good care of him.
When Wilbur gets bigger though, he has to get moved to the barn to live with the other ani
mals like sheep, cows, horses, rats, and geese. That's where he meets his very best friend, a spider named Charlotte. Charlotte is sooooo nice and she tells Wilbur amazing stories and does everything she can to protect him.
You see, one day Wilbur finds out that he's going to be killed around Christmastime, which is really scary! Wilbur gets so sad and that makes Charlotte very sad too. But Charlotte is brave and she comes up with a clever plan to try to save Wilbur's life.
Charlotte is an amazing web spinner and she starts weaving words and messages into her webs up in the doorway of the barn. First she spins the word "Some Pig" in her web, which makes all the humans on the farm super confused and amazed that a spider could do that! The humans think Wilbur must be a very special pig to have a spider call him "Some Pig", so they decide not to kill him.
Then Charlotte spins other messages in her web like "Terrific", "Radiant", and even says that Wilbur is going to be "Humble". With each new message, the humans become more and more amazed at Charlotte's webs and Wilbur gets to go on living! It's honestly just so c
lever how Charlotte comes up with these plans to make sure her friend doesn't get killed.
My favorite part is when Charlotte has hundreds of little baby spiders and even though she's old and tired, she still takes the time to make sure all her children know how to spin words into their webs to help protect other animals that are in trouble, just like she did for Wilbur. I think that shows such amazing friendship between Charlotte and Wilbur.
In the end, poor Charlotte does die since she was an old spider, but Wilbur has her children and grandchildren to keep him company. He even gets to stay at the farm instead of being turned into smoked ham! I'm always so happy that Charlotte's brave words save sweet Wilbur's life.
There are so many messages and lessons in this book that I really love. The main one is about true friendship, which Charlotte and Wilbur totally have. Charlotte never gives up on Wilbur even though saving his life is so hard. And Wilbur never gives up on Charlotte either and makes sure her children are safe after she's gone. You can tell they really care about each other so much.
The book also shows that you shouldn't underestimate anyone, even if they're just a little pig or just a tiny spider. With enough cleverness and bravery, even the smallest creatures can do amazing things! I think that's such an awesome message.
And above all, Charlotte's Web is a beautiful story about sticking up for your friends and never abandoning those you care about. It makes me want to be a better friend myself and always look out for my buddies and try my hardest to help them, just like Charlotte does for Wilbur.
I have to say, I laugh, I cry, I cheer – this book just brings out so many emotions in me every time I read it! The characters are so easy to care about, especially brave Charlotte and sweet, innocent Wilbur. E.B. White has a way of writing that really brings the story to life and makes you feel like you're right there in the barn watching everything happen.
I really think Charlotte's Web should be read by absolutely everyone! It's a true classic and sends such positive messages about the importance of friendship, bravery, kindness, and seeing the amazing capabilities in every creature, no matter how small. This book mak
es me feel so many different feelings and always leaves me thinking about things in a new way. Highly, highly recommended!
So that's my book review for you! If you haven't read Charlotte's Web yet, you absolutely must. It's an incredible story that will stay with you forever. Thanks so much for listening, and happy reading!
