My Family Rules and School Rules
Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 7th grade. Today I want to talk to you about the rules I have to follow at home with my family and at school. Rules can be kind of a drag sometimes, but they're actually really important for keeping things running smoothly.
Let's start with the family rules at my house. The number one rule is to always be respectful to my parents and siblings. My parents work really hard and they deserve for me to listen to them and be polite. I have to say "please" and "thank you", can't talk back, and have to do what they say without grumbling or complaining. It's only fair since they do so much for me.
Another big family rule is to keep my room clean and make my bed every morning. I'll admit I'm not the neatest person, so this one can be tough! But having a messy room just creates more work for my mom when she has to clean it. We all have weekly chores too, like taking out the trash, folding laundry, and doing dishes. It's not my favorite thing, but I know it's important to pitch in.
We also have set times that we eat meals and go to bed on school nights. Dinner is at 6:30pm every night, and I have to be in my room getting ready for bed by 9pm so I'm well-rested for school. On weekends I get to stay up a little later. My parents are pretty strict about not spending too much time on screens too - only 1 hour per day on weekdays.
If I break any of the family rules, I'll get consequences. That usually means losing screen time privileges, getting extra chores, or occasionally even being grounded if it's something really bad like skipping school or being disrespectful. Punishments stink, but they help me learn what's right.
At school, we have a pretty long list of rules in the student handbook that cover everythin
g from dress code to behavior expectations. One of the most important is the rule about being kind and respectful to staff and other students. Bullying of any kind is absolutely not tolerated. We're supposed to keep our hands to ourselves, no hitting or shoving or mean teasing.
There are also rules about academic integrity - no cheating or plagiarizing on assignments and tests. If you're caught, you'll get a zero on the work and might even get suspended. Same goes for skipping class or leaving campus without permission.
In terms of how we act in the classroom, there are rules about raising our hand to speak, not disrupting the lesson, being on time, doing our work, and not having phones/devices out unless the teacher allows it for an activity. We have to walk in the hallways too, no running or horseplay.
Following the dress code is pretty easy - just wear your school polo and bottoms that follow the rules about length and fit. No hats, hoods, or other head coverings inside. And of course, no clothes with inappropriate words, images, or references to drugs/alcohol/violenc
e.
School rules extend to the cafeteria (no running, wait patiently in line), assemblies (remain quiet and don't disturb others), and out on the campus (only use appropriate entrances and exits, don't wander into off-limit areas). We also have to follow the technology rules about only going to approved websites and not damaging equipment.
tablets和laptops If a student breaks a rule, the consequences depend on how serious it was. For smaller things like disrupting class or breaking the dress code, it might just be a warning or detention. Bigger violations like fighting, bullying, or destruction of property could lead to in-school or out-of-school suspension. And really egregious things like bringing weapons or illegal substances to school can get you expelled completely.
I try my best to follow all the rules because I know they're there for good reasons - to keep everyone safe, create a good learning environment, and teach us to be respectful members of the community. Do the rules get annoying sometimes? Yeah, for sure. But overall, they make my life and everyone else's lives a lot better.
That's the deal with my family's rules and my school's rules! Like I said, rules aren't always fun, but they help keep things running properly. As long as I follow them, I stay out of trouble and my parents/teachers don't have any reasons to be upset with me. So even though I might grumble a bit, I still make an effort to be a rule-follower. It's the right thing to do.
Okay, I think that's all I have to say on this topic! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for reading my essay!
