    My Life: Then and Now
Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. A lot has changed in my life since I was a little kid. Let me tell you all about the differences between the past and present for me.
When I was really little, like 3 or 4 years old, my daily routine was pretty simple. I'd wake up in the morning and my mom would make me breakfast - usually cereal or oatmeal. Then I'd play with my toys and watch TV shows like Paw Patrol and Daniel Tiger. Nap time was right after lunch. In the afternoon, I'd go to the park or play outside until dinner. Then it was bath time, stories, and bedtime. Easy peasy!
Now that I'm older, my days are much busier. I wake up early to get ready for school. I hav
e to get dressed, brush my teeth, and pack my backpack with homework, books, my laptop, and a snack. Then my mom drives me to elementary school. We start our days with math or reading lessons. Other subjects I have are science, social studies, art, music, PE, and computer coding. I also have recess and lunch periods. After school, I go to soccer practice twice a week. I have to complete homework assignments too. My evenings are filled with activities like Boy Scouts, robotics club, or just hanging out with friends. I don't go to bed until 8 or 9pm!
The types of games and toys I play with have evolved over the years too. As a preschooler, I loved playing make-believe with action figures and stuffed animals. We'd go on epic adventures fighting bad guys or exploring jungles. Building forts and castles out of pillows, blankets, and cardboard boxes was the best. I had tons of picture books that my parents would read to me at night.
tablets和laptops
Nowadays, I'm really into video games and technology. My favorite games are Roblox, Minecraft, and Mario Kart. I have a Nintendo Switch that I play games on all the time. I eve
n taught my little sister how to play! Instead of physical books and toys, I use tablets and laptops a lot. That's how I watch shows, play learning games, and do homework. Don't get me wrong though - I still play outside and use my imagination. Just last week, my friends and I played zombie apocalypse in the backyard.
Speaking of my friends, that's another thing that's really different compared to when I was little. As a baby and toddler, I didn't have any real friends. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles were my buddies back then. We'd go to the park, but I didn't have longterm playmates besides my cousin Amy.
Now that I'm in elementary school, I have a whole squad of awesome friends! We met in kindergarten and have been inseparable ever since. There's Jack, Emma, Liam, Ava, Noah and Sophia. We've been in the same classes for years. Having a core group of buddies to hang out with, laugh with, and rely on is the best. Summer camp, sleepovers, birthday parties - we do everything together! They're like the brothers and sisters I never had. I really cherish my friends.
My family life has shifted over the years too. When I was a baby, it was just me, my mom and my dad at home. Now my little sister Chloe is part of our family too. She's 6 years old and cute as a button! But she's also super annoying sometimes and loves bugging me. Having a sibling definitely wasn't something I expected, but I've gotten used to it. I adore her, even if she drives me crazy.
Our house looks a lot different than it did back in the day too. My nursery room had baby decorations like teddy bears, ABCs, and primary colors. It was all soft, cozy and safe for a little baby. Now my big kid bedroom has a basketball theme with orange walls. I've got trophies, sports posters, and a basketball hoop over my closet. No more crib either - I've got a twin bed and a cool loft area for chilling. The playroom got turned into Chloe's princess bedroom. So many changes!
My parents seem different these days too, at least from my perspective. When I was a youngin', they were all about playing, cuddling, and spending tons of time with me. These days, they're both working a lot to pay the bills. My mom is a teacher and my dad has an office job. Don't get me wrong, they're still great parents! But they're more strict

The Past and Present: A World of Difference
Wow, have things changed since I was a little kid! It's crazy to think about how different life is now compared to back then. From the way we play and learn to the kind of food we eat, almost everything has shifted in some way. Let me tell you all about the stark contrasts between the past and the present that I've noticed.
When I was really little, we didn't have all these fancy gadgets and gizmos. There were no tablets, smartphones, or even laptops for kids my age. We had to make do with physical toys and board games. I remember spending hours setting up elaborate tracks for my toy cars and trains. Building fortresses out of plastic bricks was another favorite pastime. Nowadays, most of my friends are glued to screens playing video games or watching videos. While that digital stuff is fun, I kind of miss the simplicity of old-fashioned hands-on play.
