    My Favorite Season is Summer
    Summer is the best season ever! I love summer so much. It's the most fun time of the whole year. School is out, the weather is amazing, and there are so many awesome things to do. Let me tell you all about why summer is the greatest.
    First of all, no more school for a few months! Don't get me wrong, I like school okay. But it's really nice to get a super long break from homework, tests, and having to wake up early every morning. In the summer, I get to sleep in late every day. My parents don't make me set an alarm or anything. I can stay up late at night too without having to worry about being tired for class the next day. Sleeping in is the best!
    The weather in summer is perfect. It's sunny and warm pretty much every day. The sun stays out for so many hours. I can go outside and play anytime without having to bundle up in a ton of clothes. No more heavy coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Just shorts and a t-shirt is all I need. It feels so nice to have the warm sun shining down. And a cool breeze blowing is so refreshing when it gets really hot out.
    Summer means lots of fun activities too. My friends and I have endless options for things to do. We go swimming at the pool or beach all the time. Playing in the water is a blast when it's scorching hot outside. We have epic water balloon and squirt gun fights that last for hours. Hiking, biking, playing sports, it's all more enjoyable in the nice summer weather. We even try new things in summer like camping, going to amusement parks, or taking little road trips.
    Plus there are so many enjoyable summer traditions and events. Cooking out on the grill and having picnics and barbeques is something we do a lot. Fireworks displays and parades happen for the 4th of July. Fairs and festivals with games, rides, music, and amazi
ng food happen all summer long. And who can forget about summer camp? I go for a few weeks every year and it's an absolute highlight. Campfires, capture the flag, arts and crafts, canoeing, archery – camp has it all!
    The best part is that with no school, my schedule is totally open in summer. I can stay up as late as I want then wake up whenever without having to be anywhere. My days are free to do whatever activities sound fun instead of being stuck sitting at a desk all day. I can be spontaneous and go on little adventures or just relax around the house. There's so much freedom in those summers months. No routine, no schedule, no responsibilities. Just nonstop fun!
    Some people might say summer is their least favorite season because it's too hot or humid some days. Or that the break from school is too long and they get bored. Maybe some people like the coziness of other seasons more. But for me, the heat is never a big deal because there are so many ways to cool off. And I never ever get bored in summer because there's an endless list of awesome things to do.
    The freedom, the weather, the activities, the relaxation, the traditions – that's why summer is 100% my favorite season, no question! The other seasons are okay I guess. But they just can't compare to the pure absolute joy and fun of summer. Those couple months of summer vacation are what I spend all school year longingly waiting and wishing for. The second summer arrives, I soak up every second until summer break ends and school starts again. Then I count down the days until next summer!
