1. 能听、说、认读单词：countryside, lower, shadow, smarter, become.
2. 能读懂小短文，并能完成相对应的练习。
二．学习重难点：
1. 重点：能理解小短文内容的意思。
2. 难点：能了解影子变化的真正原因。三．学情分析：
学生能够通过讨论图片中季节的变化激活相关背景知识及话题词汇，能够在文段中捕捉不同类型的信息，通过简单的推理，提炼出文段的主旨大意，能够根据阅读所获取的信息完成填空内容梗概的活动，能够完成读后思考和讨论题。
Read and write 分为读、写两部分：第一部分要求学生完成读前活动，然后读文段，看图片完成读后阅读检测及讨论任务，第二部分为有意义的书写活动，将文段的部分内容改为对话形式。四．学习过程：
1. Say a chant：
Thin, thin, thiner,
I 'm thiner than you, Heavy,heavy, heavier,
You'er heavier than me,
Big,big,bigger,
My bag is bigger than yours,
Small,small,smaller,
Your bag is smaller than mine.
2.复习：让学生说出所学形容词的比较级，并将这些形容词的比较级按变化规律实行分类：
（1）直接加er：tall—taller short—shorter young—younger old—older
long—longer small—smaller strong--stronger （2）双写尾字母，加er：thin—thinner big--bigger
（3）把y 变成I, 再加er：heavy—heavier funny—funnier
3. 活动：森林派对：老师和学生们戴上事先准备好的动物的头饰，模仿所戴头饰上的小动物，互相对话。
如：Helllo,I 'm an elephant.I'm bigger than a dog.
Hello ,I 'm a cat. I'm smaller than a tiger .
Hello ,I 'm a giraffe .I'm taller than a duck. 没有戴头饰的同学能够做小导游，以小导游的身份为大家介绍森林里的动物：如：
Welcome to the forest.Look!The elephant is strong, his nose is long.The giraffe is taller than the deer.It has a long neck.But the deer is faster than the giraffe…・
4. 学习新单词：countryside, lower, shadow, smarter, become.
(1) 出示城乡两张图片
spring怎么读语音?
T ：This is a picture of the country.This is a picture of the countryside. 板书countryside 并带读。
T ：Do you like countryside ? Why?
(2) 利用实物投影仪打出自己的影子
T ：This is my shadow.Have you seen your shadow?
板书shadow并带读。
⑶出示low和smart，引导学生说出他们的意思，然后让他们根据形容词的比较级的变化规律，说出他们的比较级
板书low—lower smart—smarter 全班齐读单词。
(4) 请一位学生上讲台吹气球，边吹边说：The balloon is become bigger and bigger. 板书become
(5) Read and write：
T ：The spring is coming !The sky is clearer and the sun is brighter .Can you think any other changes?There are four pictures in the book.Please look and tick.
全班校对答案，并试着用英语说出这些变化。
学生独立阅读Read 的课文内容，画出自己不理解的句子。全班共同理解下面的句子：
It is getting lower and lower ,but his shadow is getting longer and longer.
Why is my shadow lower when the sun gets lower?
The sun goes down every day, and we grow older every day. Your shadow grows longer because you are growing taller. 学生独立完成文后练习，然后班级展示。
五．自悟自得：引导学生通过总结，复习回顾自己本节课所学内容及收获。六．家庭作业。
Unit1 How tall are you? 第四课时学习目标：
1. 复习三会单词，四会单词和四会句子。
2. 能读懂Story time 的故事。能理解故事内容并能按照准确的语音和语调朗读故事，能表演故事，并能恰当使用故事中的语言。学习重难点：
1. 重点：复习本单元的单词和句子。
2.难点：能借助图片读懂Story time 的故事。
学情分析：
故事板块表现的是Zoom 和Zip 招聘足球守门员的故事。学生除了复习巩固句型How tall are you? How heavy are you ? I'rm…He' bigger than…以外，还能够通过图片和上下文理解新句子：Football needs teamwork•等。
在学习本节内容时，学生能够成立合作学习小组，利用各种音像资料实行自学和合作学习，并以学习小组为单位在课外排演故事，在课堂上直接展示自学成果，在课堂展示时对难点实行理解和探究。学习过程：
1. 复习三会单词和四会单词。
出示图片，学生通过抢答说单词，抢答到的同学还要拼读出单词并说出这些单词的原形。
2. 游戏：正反话
T：Jack is older than Sam.
S：Sam is younger than Jack.
