    My Favorite Season is Winter
    Winter is the best season of the year and my absolute favorite! I love everything about it - the cold weather, the holidays, and all the fun activities. There's just something special about winter that makes it the most wonderful time of the year.
    One of the best parts of winter is the cold weather. I love being able to bundle up in my warmest coat, hat, scarf, and mittens to stay toasty. Building a snowman is so much fun after a big snowstorm. My brother and I compete to see who can build the biggest one, decorating it with a carrot nose, stick arms, and rocks for buttons and eyes. Afterward, we have an epic snowball fight until we're both freezing but laughing so hard our stomachs hurt.
    When it gets really cold at night, sometimes the raindrops freeze into icy jewels that make every tree branch and leaf sparkle like diamonds in the morning sun. It's a beautiful winter wonderland! I also love watching the delicate snowflakes drifting down from the sky, each one unique and perfectly formed. If I stick my tongue out, I can even catch one to look at it up close before it melts.

We ride up the towrope together and I pretend I'm a professional snowboarder being pulled up the mountain. Afterward, we warm up by the crackling fire in the rustic lodge sipping hot apple cider. SO cozy!
    Sometimes on a quiet day, my friends and I will go on a winter nature hike through the woods near our neighborhood. Everything looks so peaceful and still under a blanket of pristine snow. We hear the crunch of our boots making the first footprints to disturb this untouched space. Squirrels scamper away as we pass and we keep an eye out for deer, rabbits, and other winter wildlife. The cold air smells crisp and clean as we breathe it into our lungs.
    At night, I fall asleep surrounded by the peaceful quiet of winter, the only sound the gentle hush of snowfall outside my window. I dream of catching falling snowflakes on my tongue and making snow angels. Then I wake up and it's a true winter wonderland! I rush to get bundled up so I can get outside and experience the magic again. From sledding and skiing to holidays and nature hikes, winter is simply the most fun time of year.
    What's not to love? I hope winter lasts forever so I never have to stop building snowmen, going sledding, or looking at the glittering ice-covered trees.
