    My City Tianshui
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm from a really cool city called Tianshui. It's in Gansu Province in northwest China. Let me tell you all about my hometown!
Tianshui is an ancient city with a really long history going back over 2,700 years. It used to be the capital of the Qin State way back in the Warring States Period before China was unified. So there are lots of old buildings, cultural relics, and historical sites to see.
spring and fall怎么读
One of the most famous places is the Maiji Stone Inscriptions. These are ancient writings carved into huge rocks over 1,700 years ago! The carvings have lots of poems, notes about important events, and even doodles. It's like an ancient Instagram carved into stone. Pretty neat, right?
Another cool spot is the Fuxi Temple. Fuxi is this legendary hero who taught people useful skills like hunting, fishing, and writing waaaay back in ancient times. The temple honors him and has these awesome stone carvings showing the creation myths. My favorite is the one with the eight trigrams that represent heaven, earth, thunder, wind, water, fire, mountains, and lakes. Doesn't that sound epic?
But Tianshui isn't just about old stuff from long ago. We've got beautiful natural scenery too! The most famous is the Taohe River that winds through the city. You can take boat tours along the river and see all the willow trees lining the banks. It's gorgeous when the trees are green in spring and summer. And in the fall, the leaves turn pretty shades of yellow, orange, and red. My friends and I love playing in the fallen leaves when it's autumn.
There are also loads of parks and gardens to explore. Like the Sanhua Monastery Park with its ancient Buddhist temples hidden among tall pine trees and rocky mountains. Or the Lotus Park where you can see fields of bright pink lotus flowers blooming on the lakes. It looks like a painting come to life!
If you're feeling adventurous, you can hike up Daxianju Hill. My Dad took me once and I was so tired by the end from all the stairs! But the views from the top overlooking the city and rivers are breathtaking. You can even spot the Yellow River from up there on a clear day.
Speaking of rivers, Tianshui has this crazy cool bridge called the Dongyao Bridge. It's almost 400 years old and stretches over a thousand feet across the Wei River! What makes it unique is that it's super duper slim and narrow - only a few feet wide in some parts. Looking down from the middle is kind of scary but also thrilling.
And let's not forget the yummy food we have here. My absolute favorite is the Tianshui luohou soup. It's this hot and sour pork bone soup with daikon radish that's so warm and comforting, especially in winter. But maybe don't think too hard about how it's made from pork bone broth - just trust me that it tastes amazing!
We've also got delicious beef noodle soups, steamed dumplings stuffed with lamb or beef, and bakery treats like sesame seed cakes. Everything is made with fresh local ingredi
ents from farms nearby. I always feel lucky to have such tasty hometown food.
Tianshui may be a small city compared to places like Beijing or Shanghai. But we've got a huge amount of cool history, beautiful nature, and delectable cuisine all packed into one place. It's a true hidden gem in China that more people should discover. I feel so proud calling Tianshui my home!
If you ever get the chance to visit Northwestern China, you gotta stop by my city. I'll be your tour guide and show you all the best spots. Just let me know! Thanks for letting me share a little about the awesome place I'm from.

    My Hometown Tianshui
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I want to tell you all about my amazing hometown of Tianshui in Gansu Province, China. Get ready to learn some really cool facts!
Tianshui is an ancient city with a super long history going back over 2,700 years! Can you believe cities could be that old? It was an important stop along the ancient Silk Road trade route between China and the West. Merchants from all over would pass through buying and selling precious goods like silk, spices, and jade.
Some of the oldest parts of Tianshui feel like stepping back in time. The city still has stretches of its awesome giant rammed earth defensive wall that surrounded and protected it centuries ago. Parts of the wall are 8 meters tall and 12 meters wide at the base - that's as big as a three-story building! You can actually walk along certain sections which is so much fun to imagine what it was like back then.
In the heart of the old city is the Majiaying Grottoes, a series of awesome Buddhist cave temples and sculptures carved right into the side of a hill overlooking the city over 1,500 years ago! There are 194 caves with more than 7,200 Buddhist statues and carvings. My favorite is the massive 15-meter Buddha statue. Just imagine the work it took to carve something that huge out of solid rock back then with only basic tools!
