陈:Nice to c u
李:good to c u
陈:Thanks for joining us.
廖:谢谢您今天的到来。
李:也谢谢您的邀请。
王:Thank you.Thank you for having me.
springshow是什么意思中文翻译S:So you’ve wrote a book about the Chinese New Year,And having read it I’ve got several questions about the Chinese New Year.
廖:您写的书是关于中国春节的,我拜读之后,心里还是有些问题。
A:嗯,谢谢您。我在写这本书的时候确实是深入研究了中国春节,我想我可以回答您的疑问。
王:Yes,Thank you for your reading. And since I wrote this book was based on the studying of the Spring Festival,I think I could Answer Your questions.
陈:Well,I have found an interesting fact that Chinese seem to like wearing articles of red clothing very much, what’s the meaning of it?
廖:我发现中国人貌似很喜欢穿红的衣服,有什么意义吗?
李:是的,在中国文化里,红昭示着幸运,所以我们很喜欢红。
王:That’s pretty true. Because in Chinese culture red represent luck,so we do like the color of red.
陈:Fabulous. So are there other traditions of the Spring Festival that can reflect the Chinese culture?
廖:真有趣,那还有什么春节传统能反映中国文化的吗?
李:当然,很多。比如过年人们喜欢买新裤子,因为汉语里裤子就是“服”,与财富的“富”谐音。
王:Sure, there are pretty much. For example, people like to buy new trousers because the Chinese word for trousers is “fu” ,which is a Chinese homonym for wealth.
陈:Oh,really,that’s funny.
廖:真的吗,真有趣。
李:在除夕夜,孩子们应该尽可能晚睡、熬夜,因为据说他们睡的越晚,他们的父母越长寿。
王:Children should stay up as late as possible on New Year’s Eve for it is believed that the later they stay up,the longer their parents will live.
陈:This is quite strange but sounds very “China”.
廖:这种说法很奇怪但也很符合中国的感觉。
李:呵呵。当拜访亲戚朋友尤其是比你年长的亲友时,向他们传递你对他们来年幸福的美好愿望。另外,孩子和单身的人将会得到装满前的幸运红包,称为“来喜”。
王:And visit family especially those older than yourself and friends to pass on your wishes on good fortune for the New Year. Plus kids and single people will receive lai-see lucky red packets full of money.
陈:Yeah ,I know that ,you also call it hong bao ,am I right?
廖:是的,我知道这个习俗,你们还管这叫红包,对吗?
李:对的,而且给每个孩子两份“来喜”因为好事成双,不要只给一份。这是你把祝愿传递给下一代的方法。企业老板也要给员工和同事红包。
王:Yes. We give two lai see to each child.Because happiness comes in two’s, do not just give one. This is your way of passing good luck to the next generation.Business owners also give lai see to employees and associates.
陈:Em ,I see. So I also want to know are there some thing that is taboo to do on the spring festival ?
廖:我了解了,我还想知道在春节你们有什么事情是比较忌讳做的吗?
李:不要穿白或黑服装,因为这是传统意义上丧事的颜。
王:Don’t wear white or black clothing, since they are the traditional colors of mourning.
李:在新年第一天,不拖地,不扔垃圾,因为怕把“财”给送走了。
王:Floors may not be swept and garbage may not be disposed of on the first day of the N
ew Year for fear of casting riches out the door.
陈:Oh,So people should keep the floor clean on that day, isn’t it?Or it gonna be dirty,No one wants to stay in a room with a dirty floor I think.
廖:那人们不是要保持好地板的卫生吗?我想不会有人想要呆在一个地板脏的房间吧。
李:哈哈,是的呢。
王:Yeah,Right.
陈:So at the end of the show,Could you teach me a Chinese greeting of the Spring Festival?
廖:在节目的最后,能不能请您教我一句中国的问候?
李:可以呀,荣信之至。
王:Sure,with pleasure.
李:恭喜发财,马年大吉。
陈(对王):Oh you ought to explain the meaning of the sentence.
王:Okay(笑) I’d like to wish you gong xi fa cai which means have a happy and prosperous New Year.
陈:恭喜发财,马年大吉。 恭喜发财,马年大吉。
李:谢谢,也祝您新年快乐。
王:Thank you ,and wish you a happy new year.
