    My Unforgettable Summer Vacation
School was finally over, and summer vacation had arrived! This meant two whole months of freedom, fun, and adventures. My parents had promised to take me on a special trip this year as a reward for my good grades. I was so excited when they told me we were going to South Korea!
We started planning months in advance. My mom helped me research all the cool things to see and do in Seoul, the capital city. I made a list of the top places I wanted to visit like the Korean Folk Village, Lotte World, and the Trickeye Museum with all the awesome 3D trick art. My dad bought guidebooks and mapped out our itinerary. Finally, the day came to depart!
The flight was really long, but I didn't mind because I had a window seat. I loved looking down at the clouds and little houses and roads below. When we landed in Seoul, everything seemed so different and new. The airport was huge, the signs were in Korean writing I couldn't read, and there were people everywhere rushing around.
Our hotel was awesome – it had a pool, game room, and the most delicious breakfast buffet every morning. We spent our first couple days just exploring the nearby areas on foot. Seoul is such a vibrant, modern city with bright lights, awesome skyscrapers, and cool subway stations. But you still see traditional elements like the beautiful palaces with guards in colorful costumes.
One of my favorite experiences was visiting the Korean Folk Village, which re-creates life in Korea during the 18th and 19th centuries. We got to dress up in traditional hanbok outfits, which were colorful dresses for my mom and I, and loose pants and a shirt for my dad. Everything from the houses to the workshops showed what living was like back then. I even got to try my hand at some old-fashioned games and activities!
Another memorable place was Lotte World, a huge entertainment complex with the world's largest indoor amusement park. The rides were amazing – my favorite was the wild roller coaster that did crazy loops upside down. I also loved the folk museum showing traditional games, music, and dance.

But what really blew my mind was the Trickeye Museum. It's filled with awesome 3D paintings that seem to pop out at you in an optical illusion. My dad and I had a blast taking funny pictures pretending to interact with the artwork. In one, I look like I'm dangling by my fingers from a broken bridge high above the ground. Another shows me trapped in a giant's hand!
My dad also took me to see a traditional Korean drumming performance, which was amazing. The performers were so energetic and athletic as they pounded on these huge drums. Some even did cool tricks like flips and spins while drumming!
On our last day, we visited one of the War Memorial Museums to learn about the history of the Korean War. It was interesting but also quite sad to see all the destroyed tanks, plan
es, and weapons on display. I'm just glad the war is over now and that South Korea has recovered to become such a prosperous, thriving nation.
Before we knew it, our week in Seoul was over. I had an incredible time exploring the combination of modern and traditional sights, sounds, and experiences. I made so many wonderful memories that I'll never forget. I feel so lucky and grateful to my parents for making this dream vacation a reality. Maybe next year we can visit another amazing country and culture!
This trip has also inspired me to study Korean language and history more. Who knows, perhaps I'll even want to live and work in Seoul someday? The world is so big and fascinating – I can't wait to plan my next adventure!

    My Amazing Travel Adventures
Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm in the 6th grade. I just had the most amazing su
mmer travelling with my family and I can't wait to tell you all about it!
Our first stop was New York City. I had seen pictures before, but actually being there was just incredible. The huge skyscrapers towered above us, seeming to almost touch the clouds. Times Square was insanely bright and busy with people, billboards, and yellow cabs zooming by. We visited some really cool museums like the American Museum of Natural History. I loved seeing the massive dinosaur skeletons and learning about different eras in history. The Statue of Liberty was awesome too - you could see it from so far away as this huge green figure welcoming everyone to the city.
