摘要：PURPOSE:To improve processing efficient at the time of retrieving various character strings in the same text by previously searching the positions of specific characters in the text. CONSTITUTION:The titled system is provided with a text table 1, an address table 2, a leading address table 3 and the table of a character string 4 to be retrieved. Characters are extracted from the head of the character string one by one, the positions of the characters on the text are recognized by the addresses of entries corresponding to the characters in the address table 3 and whether the character string exists in the position or not is decided from the table 2 based on the decided result whether the addresses of two entries for respective characters in the character string 4 are continued or not. Since only the address values in the address table are used for deciding whether the character string to be retrieved exists on the position or not and an address indicating the succeeding position of the character to be retrieved is stored in said constitution, data access can be executed only by the number of times of appearance of a character included in the character string to be retrieved in the text, so that the efficiency of retrieval processing can be improved.
