摘要：PURPOSE:To enhance the functions of a typewriter, by automatically returning a carriage located at an arbitrary column position in an arbitrary line on a typing paper to a predetermined relocating position. CONSTITUTION:When a carriage return and line feed key 1-7 is depressed during normal printing, data on a relocating position and the current column position of a carriage 7 are initialized, and carriage return and paper feeding by a one-line amount are performed, whereby a type wheel 9 is positioned at the first position in the next line. When moving the carriage to another position in another line on a paper, a back feed key 1-3 or 1-4 is depressed, whereby the paper is fed forward or backward by a one-line amount, and by depressing the key an appropriate number of times, the carriage 7 is located at the objective line. Then, a back feed key 1-1 or 1-2 is depressed a desired number of times, and when the carriage is located at the objective position, an objective operation is conducted. With a relocating key 1-6 depressed, a main controlling part 3 performs column position adjustment and then line adjustment, thereby returning the carriage 7 to the relocating position.
